Happy Easter 2013

Easter started off great.  On Saturday night Jack colored some eggs with Dad (video below), and then it was time for bed.  Apparently Jack was too excited thinking about the Easter Bunny hiding his artwork, because at 12:45 he rolled right out of bed, into his nightstand, and onto his pillow on the floor.
We calmed him down, soaked up some blood, and got him back to sleep.  But on Easter morning, when others were heading off to church or sneaking jelly beans from their baskets, we went to the ER for three stitches.  Jack handled it all very well, and before we left the nurse even said, "Well, I'm sure this won't be his last trip to the ER.  That's just what boys do.  Happy Easter!"

...the video is a little long

"Hey Mama, think I need stitches?"

Just makin' myself at home. I hear trips to the ER can take a long time.

Whoa, what was that medicine they gave me?
Really mom? Pictures? Right now?

Spring Break and a Trip to the Zoo

Spring Break just doesn't have the same tone or feeling once you leave college, get married, have a child, get rid of your pool table and develop plans for painting a nursery.  Our lives certainly have changed, and this spring break was a productive one.
Last year at this time, we finished off the side yard for Jack to have a place to play.  As we accumulate more stuff with another little boy on the way, we decided that Jack needed a play room.  The pool table is gone, and in its place is what Jack would kindly refer to as, "a MESS!"  Cars, crayons, Buzz, Batman and sippy cups clutter the floor of Jack's new play space, and he seems to love it.
In addition to the plans for painting, moving furniture, sorting clothes and getting our lives in order, we were able to spend a morning at Wildlife World Zoo with some friends from Angie's school.  Jack walked for a solid three hours and had a blast.
