Just Being Me

After looking at the gobs and gobs of photos Ben (I can't take any credit) has taken of Jack, I couldn't resist publishing them for your viewing pleasure. Hopefully you enjoy seeing him grow in these pictures as much as we are enjoying the ride in person. I love this boy for his charisma, his sweetness, his temperament, and his tenacity. He is quite a unique individual and has become the center of our worlds.

Jack's Hair Moments

This blog is dedicated to Betsy. She is frequently the recipient of my text pictures of Jack's amazing bedhead moments. She said I had enough material to create an entire post of pictures of "Jack's Hair Moments".  Ask and you shall receive Betsy!

More will follow at some point. Jack never wakes up without bedhead. I will continue to make "Hair Moments" a part of the blog. Everyone should experience these pictures!

Water Time!

Jack got a couple of water toys for his birthday. He enjoys all 3 of his water toys; a water table from his parents for his birthday, a kid pool from Uncle Dan, and of course our backyard pool. All the pictures below are him soaking up some water time in these early (emphasis on the "early") hot Arizona days. Many more water days to come, I'm sure.

Who needs a bathing suit? Not this guy!

Wow Dad, fascinating! Thanks for explaining that to me!

Uncle Mick, can I be in a Coolibar ad?! Pretty please?!

Time with the Shellums

Grandma and Grandpa Shellum came for a visit in March and I am just getting around to posting the pictures. I think I should quit teaching and fully invest in blogging and raising Jack. What do you think?

We enjoyed a lot of outside time in the new yard. Grandpa Wayne fixed some things around the house, and as you can see from the pictures below, Jack made sure it was done correctly and was available to "help" as Grandpa saw fit. Grandma Jeanne and I took Jack shopping. He ate it up. All of the ladies we met on our numerous trips to Homegoods thought he was pretty neat. I think Jack felt the same about himself. Let's just say they didn't help his ego at all. :)

Grandma Jeanne also helped throw (her idea) an amazing St. Patrick's Day party. Jack was right in there with the adults with his shot glass necklace. Corruption happening early and at it's best thanks to Uncle Dan. He lasted until about 7:30 p.m. and slept through the crazy, loud party going on just a couple dozen feet from his door. He sleeps like his mama!

What do you mean 'it's bed time'? I'm just getting started!

Oreos!!!

I'm hangin' with this guy. He's got Oreos!

Oreos and an iPhone?! Who IS this guy?!

One Year Old

Jack is one year old today!  I hardly know what to type to convey how fast this year has gone by and how blessed we feel every day to have Jack here with us.
So I'll just jot down a few notes for posterity's sake:

-Jack weighs 22.4 pounds
-He's generally really happy
-He likes pineapple, goldfish, steak (medium rare), yogurt, Cheerios, potatoes and milk
-When he finishes drinking from a glass, he smiles and says, "ahhh" to express just how refreshing it is
-He wears a size 5.5 shoe
-Gabby is just starting to let him pet her for more than 6 seconds
-He has 8 teeth
-He responds to the words "No, sir" by getting upset, but smiles when he shakes his own head to say no
-We love him....a lot

Below are a few pictures from the last month or so.
Happy Birthday Jack.  It's been a wonderful year!
