Moving around

Jack is quickly learning to live a life of independent mobility. Miss Robin said, "He'll be sitting up in 2 weeks and crawling by 6 months."  Ben's reaction went from, "Awesome!" to "Oh no!" It is only fitting that we would have a busy-body of a little boy.

We've been enjoying the short amount of time we have to spend with him since we are both working full time. The 3-4 hours we have with him at night are pretty amazing. He laughs and plays and talks our ears off.  It's the best 3 hours of my whole day.

We have also moved on to rice cereal and oatmeal. We gave avocado a chance tonight! Here's a little video.

Back to Reality

Well, Jack has started going to daycare with Miss Robin while Ben and I returned to work. He started last Monday, and much to my surprise, I had a really hard time with it. Ben didn't return to work until Wednesday, but Miss Robin wanted Jack to start on Monday in order to start getting him on a schedule. Ben wanted to go along to drop off Jack for his first day. I secretly thought he was being a bit dramatic, but kept my opinions to myself. On that fateful day, I turned him over to Miss Robin, Ben in tow, and the tears came like a flood. I was comforted with a loving hug from my husband. Turns out, he didn't want to come for Jack, he anticipated my struggle. I'm a lucky wife.

Later that day I got an email from Jack via Miss Robin. It read:

Hello Mama,
I am doing great...I am having fun and I am being a very good boy, I haven't cried at all. Miss Robin and the gang are taking very good care of me. Those furry things with the wet tongue kissed me and it makes me laugh. The big kiddos are nice to watch even though they move about so fast...I don't know which one to watch first. I had my bottle and now I am napping in the front room. I miss you and Dad ...but don't worry I am fine. Have a great day at work.
Your Son,
Baby Jack

It helped make it through the second half of my day. When I picked him up after school he was happy and comfortable and clearly well taken care of. Tuesday was MUCH easier, thanks to Miss Robin. :)
